Getting Started

The training methodology at Village CrossFit is incomparable to your average globo-gym workout, your marathon training or century bike rides. We implement various tools to help our clients reach their fitness goals, from nutrition advice to expert coaching on complex movements. Our program is comprised of Olympic weightlifting, power lifting, kettlebells and basic gymnastics movements. To put it simply, our gym doesn’t use machines – we use what works.

Our goal here at Village CrossFit is to coach our clients to train effectively in order to realize their athletic potential and achieve their fitness goals as quickly as possible. To ensure that all of our clients are provided with every opportunity to succeed, we require everyone wishing enroll at Village CrossFit to start in one of three ways: CF Fitness Camp, the Village CrossFit On-Ramp (small-group coaching), or by Testing Out.

CrossFit Level 1: Fundamentals

Our CrossFit Level 1: Fundamentals offering mirrors the same training principles found in our CrossFit Level 2: Advanced classes. These classes will focus on cardio work while utilizing your body’s own isometrics to build strength and gain agility. If you are unsure of your current fitness level, our CrossFit Level 1 is the most effective way to gauge your abilities and gain an understanding of our non-barbell related fundamental movements. Some clients find that our CrossFit Level 1 class is the workout they want and have no desire to join one of our CrossFit Level 2 group classes.

  • CrossFit Level 1 is the quickest way to understand your current fitness level and is available to anyone interested. Clients can stay in a CrossFit L1 class indefinitely if they choose.
  • Typical exercises include kettle bells, box jumps, wall balls, slam balls, running, jump rope, dumb bells, and sit ups etc
  • CrossFit Level 1 is strongly recommended if you have been sedentary for a long period of time, have significant health limitations or just prefer the “Boot Camp” style workout without barbells

CrossFit Level 1.5: Mechanics and Technique
